I have just returned from a week at the 2015 Santa Barbara Writers Conference. I went into the conference with excitement and anxiety. I came out of the conference with excitement and inspiration. I met professors, publishers and agents. I met all kinds of writers- New York Times best selling authors, those who write in multiple genres, first time authors, those like me who are trying to find the next step, and writers who are just starting out. The amount of energy at this conference was contagious.
I learned what I am doing right and what I need to change to keep up with the current market. Of the agents I met with some were not interested, but some were. One wants to read all of my manuscript. Between these positive experiences and the many people in this new "tribe" to which I belong, I have help along my path.
So, as I continue to walk in the direction of increased writing and publication, I now am no longer walking alone on this path. I have found that there are others walking with me. I am walking with inspiration.
Whenever you feel like you are walking alone, take a minute and look around you. You will discover others walking the path with you, and you are there to support each other. Walk with inspiration. Walk with confidence. Walk with determination. You will reach your goals.
