Stop and soak up some sun.
As the winter pounds so much of the country with feet after feet of snow, I watch friends and family on the East Coast start to experience some pretty serious cabin fever. As the stess of Mother Nature, or any other force about which we have no control, finds success in keeping us down, remember to stop and recognize the positive, beautiful and magestic things that are still around us. Now, we may have to look for them, because there are often so many negative, unfortunate, or defeating events in our direct sight, they often easily overshadow the positive things.
However, remember - they are there. Think of them as the tiny yellow crocuses that pop up out from under the snow in early spring. Sometimes we have to look for them, or even scoop some snow out of the way in order to see the beautiful petals. We may have to physically push aside some of the negative around us to make room for the small positives. It's worth it! While we may not yet be able to stop and smell the roses, we can stop and soak up some sun. Even if just for a moment.
